The
Physical Education Standards have been designed as a resource
to guide schools and teachers in the development of sound instructional
practices, curriculum, and in the assessment of students and
programs. It is only a guide and it is limited in its scope and
breadth. The teacher must expand this guide in relation to one's
professional knowledge, development, and one's own school context.
The contents of these academic standards describe what a physically
educated child should know and be able to do within the realm
of physical education.
