DOE-TI: Closes This Weekend

The DOE-TI (Title I) collection is scheduled to close this weekend, so this is the last business day to submit and signoff on your TI data. STN Support will not be available over the weekend, but the Application Center will accept data and signoffs until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday.

DOE-TI: Why is this nonpublic school on my list?

We are reposting the message below because we continue to get questions about this issue.

Subject: [STN] DOE-TI: Why is this nonpublic school on my list?
Importance: High

For the DOE-TI (Title I) collection, many public school corporations will have nonpublic schools included in Collection Reporting as a school for which data is expected.

1.      The "No Records" (to report) checkbox has been disabled because the schools listed in Collection Management are those that your Title I application said your corporation would serve with the Title I funding provided. Check with your Title I coordinator.

2.     If your corporation (for whatever reason) did not provide services or funding to one or more of the schools listed, contact Jamie Miller (317-232-0540) of our Title I staff.

3.      If appropriate, Jamie will instruct STN Support to remove the school from the list of schools for which your corporation is expected to submit data. We will not remove any schools unless instructed to do so by Jamie.

DOE-TI: Collection Closes Soon

Thanks! to all who have already submitted their Title I (DOE-TI) data.

Meanwhile, we are still awaiting data for about half of the schools that received Title I funding. The data are due before the end of the day on September 28. We have several data collections opening on October 1, so we expect to conclude this collection in a timely manner.

Issues reporting Nonpublic schools served by PublicCorps

We are experiencing some issues with allowing Public Corps to report TI data for Nonpublic Schools to which they provide Title I funding/services. We are working on assuring that the Nonpublic schools are included under the correct reporting Corporations. Thank you for your patience while we address this issue.

Issues reporting PK and PW students

We are currently having problems processing Prekindergarten (PK) students for the Title I collection. We are working on correcting this and will let you know when this is resolved.

Also, from last year's data, it appears that only a couple schools provide services to Preschool (ages 0-2, coded as PW) students and Preschool may not be part of your normal grade range. If you have problems submitting TI-eligible PW students, please contact STN Support as we may need to enter a Grade Exception for your school to allow you to submit for this Grade code.

DOE-TI: Opening today for your convenience

We are opening the DOE-TI (Title I) Collection early in order to allow you more time to submit data before the summer break. However, those schools with summer sessions should note that Summer 2008 data are to be included in the current submission.

Some things to note:

Please work closely with your local Title I Coordinator to assure data quality.

The Collection and Signoff periods will run concurrently, so you can sign off as soon as your data are submitted, reviewed and verified correct. (Those with summer programs should wait until any additional summer data are in before signing off, however.)

If you have questions about the data submission process, contact STN Support (stn_support@doe.in.gov).
If you have questions about Title I definitions, program requirements, etc., contact the Office of Title I Academic Support (Jamie Miller, 317-232-0540)

Finally, the list of schools entered into the Application Center as required to submit data has been carefully targeted to those that were included in Title I funding applications. All schools shown in Collection Management in the Application Center (and only those schools) are expected to submit TI data. If you feel a school is listed (or not listed) in error, please review the matter with your local Title I Coordinator. STN Support will not add or delete schools for the TI collection except as instructed by Jamie Miller (317-232-0540).
