SUBJECT: Graduation Cohort Site

You may have noticed changes to the Graduation Cohort Site this week. The changes occur for a variety of reasons, including DOE-GR and DOE-DM submissions by your high schools and others. In addition, the Graduation Cohort Site now displays only members of the 2002-2003 Grade 9 cohort. Students who entered high school before or after 2002-2003 and who graduated in 2005-2006 (late graduates and early graduates) will be added, as required by law, to both the numerator and denominator in calculating your graduation rate. A four-year completion rate, based solely on the 2002-2003 cohort, also will be calculated.

Toward the middle of next week we will begin to go through data change requests and supporting materials that have been uploaded to the secure site, sent by mail, or sent by facsimile. These materials will be used to identify past collections that may have to be opened or other ways in which we can assure that the status of a student is correct.

Thank you for your patience and suggestions during this process.
