SUBJECT: DOE Dropout/Mobility Report Reopened

Because a number of schools have been unsuccessful at reporting complete data for the 2006-2007 graduation cohort, we have reopened, for the final time, the DOE-DM (Dropout/Mobility) Report until Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 5:00 p.m. EST.  Your DOE-DM data submissions should include students who were enrolled and expected to be in attendance on the last day of the 2005-2006 school year but who did not return during the 2006-2007 school year, as well as students who were enrolled at any time during the 2006-2007 school year and who dropped out or became mobile during the school year.

Please note that the current DOE-DM collection includes all students in Grades 7–12.  This collection affects not only the 2007 graduation cohort but also future cohorts of 2008, 2009, and 2010.

Even if you have completed your data submission, data submitted by other corporations during this extended window may create conflicts with your data.  Please verify your results before the deadline.  The deadline will not be extended again, and no files will be processed after the deadline.

In addition to checking for conflicts, make sure you verify all results.  Some schools have reported mobility only or dropout only.  It is likely that all schools should be reporting BOTH mobility and dropout records.

Students who were reported on DOE-DM as Code 19 (in-state transfer) on the 2004, 2005, and 2006 collections and who did not attend another school will be the subject of audits to be conducted in January and February 2008.  Schools will be expected to have documented record transfer requests to support removal of the students from the cohort.
