Missing or Invalid STN Numbers |
In reviewing both the Spring LAS-Links results and the Fall ISTEP results we have found nearly 5,000 records with missing or invalid STN numbers.
Attached is an Excel spreadsheet [STN Errors 2006] that lists the corporation or non-public school and the number of records that must be corrected. Review the information from the spreadsheet so you know the scope of the task. You have until Noon, Monday February 19th to correct these records. Both Indiana law and NCLB require that every child be included in accountability, without valid STNs for these students they cannot be appropriately included in AYP or 221 determinations.
To make correction you must visit the STN Application Center and follow the path;

Input Forms
ISTEP/LAS STN Correction
You will find a secure online tool that will allow you to enter the correct STN for each listed student. There is even a quick validation check that allows you to compare the name and birth date listed on the test to the one for the “corrected” STN.
Please call the STN Help Line - 800-527-4931 with any questions about how to use the correction tool or the STN Application Center. If you have questions about Ayp or the importance of making these corrections call me (317-232-9050).
