• Indiana schools can now apply for the state-provided K-8 diagnostic assessment tools first announced in December 2007. The application and related details regarding Indiana’s assessment system are available online at www.doe.in.gov/istep. The application deadline for the K-8 diagnostic tools is March 7, 2008.

• Indiana schoolchildren from ages 6 to 15 are invited to submit artwork for the 39th World Schoolchildren’s Art Exhibition, organized by the “Association for Education through Art, Republic of China.”  This global exchange of children’s artwork is an annual event to promote cross-cultural understanding through creative experiences.
• Summer Camp for Teachers: June 23-26, 2008, Bloomington High School North
• The Sprint Ahead for Education Program is offering grants for character education and service-learning programs. District level grants range from $10,000 to $25,000 and school level grants range from $500 to $5,000. The application can be downloaded from www.sprint.com/citizenship/education/sprintahead.
