Educational/Scholarships Opportunities

 

Ball State University
Dr. Roy Weaver, Dean School of Education

A recipient who is a secondary teacher with expertise in science, mathematics, or humanities, would be a finalist for the Indiana Academy Teacher of the Year Fellowship. The Fellow position includes a reimbursement of up to $37,000 (including benefits) to the teachers school corporation for a one-year replacement. The Fellow would teach as part of the Academy faculty receiving professional development training, tuition reimbursement for Ball State courses, and free on-campus housing. One free high school distance learning course is also available to the recipients school corporation for the academic year.

 

Indiana University
Dr. Gerardo Gonzalez, Dean School of Education

The Martha Lea and Bill Armstrong Education Scholarship provides the Teacher of the Year tuition for two semesters of advanced study in Bloomington, university housing, and a $15,000 stipend to cover living expenses.

 

Indiana State University
Dr. Robert Williams, Interim Dean School of Education

The scholarship from Indiana State University awards the Indiana Teacher of the Year a $20,000 stipend along with a tuition scholarship for full-time study while serving as a Teacher-Scholar in Residence.

Dr. Suellen Reed Superintendent of Public Instruction

The Teacher of the Year has the option to become a Teacher in Residence for one year at the Indiana Department of Education.
