IC 20-28-11.5-9 states each school corporation shall provide the disaggregated results of staff performance evaluations by teacher identification number (SPN) to the department. School corporations submitted this data for all certified staff through a data collection. The law also states that the Department shall report the results of staff performance evaluations in the aggregate to the public via the department's Internet web site. The map below includes the aggregate of certificated employees of each school in Indiana. School corporations submitted staff performance results (all certified employees) by issuing a 0-4 final evaluation rating. The 0 rating (not applicable/not evaluated) includes special circumstances when a final evaluation rating was not given (FMLA, retirement, resignation, teacher death, etc.). Districts still under a contract that was settled prior to IC 20-28-11.5 becoming effective reported “no records” and signed off on the data collection. The Department did not include information for schools with less than ten educators reported as this data could be identifiable. Per IC 20-28-3-0.5, evaluation results that may be identifiable by teacher name, identification number or other identifying criteria are confidential and exempt from disclosure under IC 5-14-3-4.
