AP US History 1 delves into the study of colonization, 1492 through the Civil War and Reconstruction in 1877. AP US History is a college-level survey course which examines United States History from the pre-Columbian period to the present, focusing on the nation's political, economic, intellectual, cultural, and social history. The class is taught using themes of history and historical thinking skills to prepare students for the AP US History Exam and educational experiences beyond high school. The online AP US History course will develop the skills necessary to arrive at conclusions on the basis of an informed judgment and to present reasons and evidence clearly and persuasively in essay format. Because this course it taught online, it will require a great deal of self-discipline and time management to complete this course in the required time frame.
