Course Description:

AP World History 2 provides an in-depth study into the history of the world starting with the beginnings of global trade through current issues facing our world. Through AP World History 1 and 2, students will focus on themes and key concepts seen through the history of the world to make global connections and develop a full understanding of what has occurred to bring humanity to this point in time. The AP World History course is designed to provide students with the analytic skills, critical thinking skills, and factual knowledge necessary to achieve on the AP exam and at the college level. Students should learn to assess historical materials and their merit to a given interpretive problem. The online AP World History course will develop the skills necessary to arrive at conclusions on the basis of an informed judgement and to present reasons and evidence clearly and persuasively in essay format. The course will also assist students in developing skills in organizing information, deconstructing questions, and how to study, preparing them for future history courses.
