School Counselor

  • Proof of two (2) years experience as a school counselor in an accredited school
  • Hold Proficient Practitioner/Standard/Provisional license for five (5) years

Required documents needed to professionalize a School Counselor license

  • Official transcripts showing renewal coursework, OR approved PGP, OR National Board Certification (NBPTS).
  • Proof of two (2) years teaching experience in an accredited school.
  • Valid CPR card from IDOE approved provider.

School Services - Renew & Professionalize to a 10 Year License

  1. Log into your LVIS account.
  2. Click the green “Renew, Convert or Professionalize my license” box. 
  3. Select School Services
  4. Click I have a 5 year license
  5. Click Renew and Professionalize to a 10 year
  6. Choose Professionalize with Master
  7. Choose one of the following:
    1. Renew with Coursework
    2. Renew with 90 Point PGP
      1. NOTE: If you choose this option, you must have an Approved 90 Pt PGP in the system before the application will allow you to move on. (see steps at the bottom of these instructions)
    3. Renew with IPLA
       
  8. Select the license you wish to renew. Answer the questions. Click Next.
  9. Click Add Recommending Instruction Entry. Select the State.
     
    1. If Indiana, Select the Indiana College/University.
    2. If out-of-state, type in the name of the college/university.
    3. Click Save Recommending Institution Entry. Click Next.
  10. Answer the questions. Upload required documentation, if requested. Click Next.
  11. Upload the required documentation. Click Next.
  12. If you have everything completed, you will be able to Submit Application. If not, you need to fix what is missing. Missing materials will be in RED.
  13. Click the link to pay for all pending applications.
  14. Mark the box under Pay?
  15. Fill out billing information.
  16. Click Review Summary.
  17. Mark the box to acknowledge the Refund Policy.
  18. Click Submit.

At any point you need to stop the application, click Save for Later. To check the status or return to your application, click “Application Status” on the right hand side when you are in your LVIS account.

 

School Nurse

  • Official transcripts showing completion of Masters in Nursing degree from accredited institution.
  • Proof of two (2) years experience as a school nurse in an accredited school.
  • Hold Proficient Practitioner/Standard/Provisional license for five (5) years.

Required documents needed to professionalize a School Nurse license

  • Official transcripts showing completion of Masters in Nursing degree from accredited institution
  • Official transcripts showing renewal coursework, OR approved PGP, OR National Board Certification (NBPTS).
  • Proof of two (2) years School Nurse experience in an accredited school.
  • Valid CPR card from IDOE approved provider.

How to Apply 

  1. Click on the LVIS Portal Link
  2. “Create” Profile”
  3. Fill out all the required fields and click “Create Profile.”
  4. Go to your personal e-mail and find the e-mail(s) LVIS just sent you. It will be from “System Administrator.” If it ended up in your SPAM/JUNK e-mail folder, you need to add the e-mail address to your contact or safe senders list.
  5. Click the link “Verify e-mail.”
  6. Log into your LVIS account.
  7. Click Professionalize and Renewal. Wait for things to populate.
  8. Choose the license you are professionalizing.
  9. Select the option that you’re using to renew your license (PGP, Coursework, or National Board Certification).
  10. Click Next.
  11. Enter a recommending institution if required.  If no recommending institution is required, click Next.
  12. Answer the questions. If requested, upload required documentation and provide description. Click Next.
  13. Upload the required documentation. Click Next.
  14. If you have everything completed, you will be able to Submit Application. If not, you need to fix what is missing. Missing materials will be in RED.
  15. Click the link to pay for all pending applications.
  16. Mark the box under the “Pay?” $35.00 + $1.72 processing fee
  17. Fill out all the Billing information.
  18. Click Review Summary.
  19. Click box under Refund Policy.
  20. Click Submit.

 

 

School Psychologist

  • Proof of two (2) years experience as a school psychologist in an accredited school or public school district
  • Hold Proficient Practitioner/Standard/Provisional license for five years

  • Proof of two (2) years teaching experience in an accredited school
