Free Computer Science Professional Development for Teachers
The State of Indiana is offering and funding a variety of professional development opportunities through a partnership with the following five professional development providers:
- CodeHS (Grades 9-12)
- IndianaComputes! (Grades K-12)
- Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing (Grades 9-12)
- Nextech (Grades K-12)
- Project Lead The Way (Grades 6-12)
Information about the specific offerings of each organization can be found below. IDOE is currently recommending that AT MINIMUM three teachers per elementary school, two teachers per middle school, and one teacher per high school be trained to teach computer science so that schools are adequately prepared to meet the requirements of IC 20-30-5-23. Contact Jake Koressel, IDOE Computer Science Specialist, with any questions. A full professional development calendar can be found here.
